"Don't be a big baby, you need this. I can't be the only one you ever talk to on campus." her words, normal at first had to then raise in volume as they entered the threshold to the party, located just off campus. This was hosted by one of the many bored University students who felt there needed to be a party every once in a while to let loose, and have fun. No where near midterm time, so it was as good as any to have this shindig. The music playing was just mixes of random dance, techno anything to raise spirits... even if you weren't particularly interesting in the music, it suited what mood this guy was trying to simulate.
The much shorter brunette girl had her much taller friend in tow, her arm hooked around his elbow, probably dragging him to the party. Nevermind him being a minor, that wasn't what mattered. What mattered most to her was getting both her friends, new and old to get out here and have some fun. She knew one of them was going to come regardless, because she's already pestered him enough this week, blatantly ignoring his attempts at cancelling. She knew how to effectively dodge his calls and spam him with [see you there <3] messages never giving him a chance to cancel formally. Since he couldn't exactly get a hold of her to cancel, he'd have to show up and tell her he was leaving. Which was good enough for her seeing as she could keep him here if she needed to.
"See? Its not so bad~ Its crowded enough that people don't care that you're here. Also.." she babbled maybe interrupting any excuses to hand him a small mickey of rye. "I never bought this for yo-- Eeee~ You're here!!" she squealed suddenly, pulling the dark haired boy with her as she approached a now grimacing guy. She only let go of Kai's arm long enough to jump up and wrap her arms around the blue eye'd boy.
Zander rolled his eyes, but he encircled her in his arms nonetheless, and letting go after a couple of seconds, "okay okaay Care jesus. You're making your new boyfriend jealous." he complained, saying whatever came to mind to get her to stop hugging. The girl did let go, and beamed up at him
"Noo, this is my friend I talked to you about. The one in my program..? Do you even list-- mm doesn't matter.~ " her doe eyes flickered back over to Kaius nudging him closer, "Kaius, this is Al-"
"Zander," he interrupted offering his hand to shake, a quick smile coming to his face for a moment, politeness was all he got right now. "So you're the one she's been dying to introduce me to." not really a question, just an amused remark.

When he’d got accepted to Boston University…secretly, of course, he had no idea that his nights would consist of a small brunette girl dragging him around campus. Not that he was complaining about the girl’s looks…Caroline was gorgeous. But she was a senior, and she was bubbly and overly cheerful, and Kai just wanted to retreat to his dorm, ignore his roommate, and be anti fucking social for a change. He had nothing in common with any of these people…he mostly just wanted a way out of his home situation, and luckily, he did well enough in school to get the financing.
This was just not part of the plan.
Not that his telling her no in varying ways actually made a difference. The girl was like a fucking pit bull. She wouldn’t let go until he’d agreed. So here he was, only half listening to her chattering as she pulled him along, hopefully putting up the air of ‘DON’T FUCKING DARE’…he was pretty sure Caroline was immune to that.
He’d still been too stunned to speak when she shoved the alcohol in his hand. Apparently she thought he had to loosen up too? This was a little much. He tried pulling away from her, pushing past some of the people who’d come up to fill the space in the crowd their passing had left. “I don’t think this is a very good…” His words were abruptly interrupted by her squeal, and he froze again as she finally let go of him to hug someone else.
This was his chance to escape!
Instead, he found himself staring stupidly at the other kid as Caroline let go of him and started to introduce them. “Kaius…” He said, still a little dazed as the older boy shook his hand…and god. He had a really nice smile. It took him a second to come back from those eyes…they were really goddamned blue…but he did, still looking a little dazed. “Introduced me…?” Before he whipped around to glare at the girl. “Why are you introducing us…I’m not…I’m not gay or anything.”
Even if he’d just been admiring the guy’s gorgeous smile and his perfect eyes…that was just a purely scientific interest of aesthetics…okay?
Very scientific.

Zander didn't miss the stunned look on the other guy's face, since he was looking too. Kaius was pretty much the kind of guy he used to look for back in high school. This was before he, y'know, grew up and actually talked to everyone and didn't judge people based on appearances alone. He's a human being, of course he has his preferences.
But, just because this was the guy Caroline has been babbling about since school started, doesn't mean this guy was interested. Even if they guy was practically gazing at him, Zander being... himself wasn't sure how to react to it. There may have been a slightly bemused look on his face, but he covered it up.
He canted his head to the side slightly and flashed him another smile, more so on the charming side. "Kaius," he repeated, testing the name on his tongue, "I guess I should say, its nice to finally meet you." The charming smile slipped as he tried to keep his amusement off his face (earning a sharp elbow from Caroline). He was a little rusty, since he was avoiding everything the past few months -- due to a ... slight mis-communication on his part. This is the exact reason Caroline was doing this, and he could tell by her now watchful eye, and amused smile spreading on her face.
The girl met Kaius' glare with her most sweetest, innocent smile. Zander rolled his eyes, though a knowing smile played on his lips. "Why not? If you were listening to me earlier, I said you needed more than me to talk to. And Alex-- shut up its your name-- needs someone too." she explained in a sort of sing-song voice, the innocent look still plastered on her face.
She made a show to look at the watch she didn't have shifting her purse to her shoulder. "Whoa wait, you invited me... us here and now you're bailing?" Zander asked suddenly. "Hmm? Oh, yup. See I, unlike you boys, have friends to meet and talk to here. Meaning, I'm going to go have some fun. I will text you tomorrowww~" she waved at them and wandered away, easily slipping back into the crowd.
Zander stared after her a little bewildered and irritated, but those were very familiar feelings when dealing with her. He cleared his throat, his eyes darting to the small bottle in Kai's hands. "She buy this for you?" he asked before plucking it out of his hands, and twisting it open. He took a quick swig, and eye'd Kaius "You wanna get outta here?" he smiled, "may as well humor her. Or she'll never stop trying."

Fucking shit, that guy had a really fucking nice smile, and once more, Kaius found himself staring at it longer than was socially acceptable. Obviously Zander didn’t notice his staring, because he didn’t mention it…or have any emotion on his face whatsoever besides that fucking smile.
Kai made the immediate decision to hate Zander because the fucker’s smile made him want to stare.
All the hate in the world couldn’t make him not notice Caroline’s overly cheerful words, and he jerked his head around to stare at her, his gaze slipping into a thoroughly unamused glare as easily as breathing. “Don’t you fucking dare leave us alone…” But she was already gone, and Kaius was left grumbling to himself. He made a mental note to tell Caroline exactly how much he hated her next time he saw her.
Now he just had to get past this guy. Maybe he could make some lame ass, bullshit excuse and slip away without offending him…and maybe he would offend him, but who cared? It wasn’t like Kaius would every actually see this dude again. He realized Zander was speaking and shook his head distractedly. “No, she definitely did not.” Nevermind the fact that he wasn’t nearly old enough to buy his own booze.
But then the shit went and grabbed the alcohol tight out of his hands and opened it. Kaius was left staring at him, stunned, his mouth slightly ajar. He was about to call the guy a goddamn fucker. It was about to leave his mouth when the guy spoke, and his gaze shifted to confusion. Leaving with him? It usually meant sex, and Kaius wasn’t gay – no really – but it didn’t have to mean gay, and the guy was fucking hot.
“Alright, why not?” The words came out all too easy for him. “But you’re fucking buying me more alcohol, fucker.” He snorted with a grin, moving to snatch the half empty bottle out of Zander’s hand and draining more of it, moving towards the exit with an amused smile on his face.

The smirk on his face was his only response to Kai denying that Caroline bought that for him. Not that he didn't believe him... its just something she would do to convince him to stay. Its a thing she's done since she was of age to buy her own, not that Zander could effectively drink the whole thing and still be okay. Also 'okay' has a few meanings here, one being his emotional state (something he thinks doesn't exist right now) and a small "anger" issue of his. Mix those two together, and well... this meeting, with whoever this guy is, will get pretty fucking awkward real fast. Not that 'oh hey, by the way i'm a werewolf' is a completely horrible icebreaker. Might land him in Kaius' crazy "stay-away-from-this-fucker" list, if he has one of those.
By the scent of him, Kaius was most likely human.
When Kaius agreed to leave this "party" with him, he quirked a grin, tipping the bottle back, intending to take another drink when Kai snatched it back. The wolf snorted, "okay hotshot, but i'm going to have to 'IOU', everywhere is closed smartass. Are you even old enough to drink?"
When they were outside, Zander could finally breathe properly. The mixture of body odor, alcohol, perfume, and what have you was nearly suffocating, not to mention the body heat sort of made everything five times worse. "So hey, we're going to stop by my place, its not too far from here. I have better tasting shit to drink there," he stated, eyes darting briefly to Kai's face. "From there we can go somewhere else, or chill there. I have games, movies and whatever. Probably better than that cesspool you call a dorm." he babbled.
In all honesty he'd be cool with just chilling at home alone, as pathetic as it was. Except from the grin that had been on Kaius' face earlier, the scowl was all too familiar. Jesus, he was pathetic.
After about ten minutes, Zander nudged the guy towards the apartment building. Apart from occasionally glancing back to see if Kaius was still following, he didn't stop until they climbed up to his apartment. "Here," he said pausing at the door. He unlocked it and pushed it open. The playful grin was back as he glanced at his 'friend' for the evening. "After you," he said cheekily with a faux bow, flourishing his hand to complete the whole look.
"You going to stick with that cheap shit rye? I have beer, aaaand--" he paused to poke his head into the fridge digging out the beer, and then his hand hesitated over the bourbon. He didn't know why he still had this shit, he hated the taste... He snorted and grabbed it held it out for Kaius to see, "or are you into the expensive shit?"
Well he did need to get rid of it.
"That is, if you plan on sticking around." he smirked, "you look like you want to bolt."

Of course Kai knew all the liquor stores were closed…well probably not since he hadn’t had the most experiences drinking, but he could fake it. The kid leveled a smirk at Zander, trying to hide the twisting of his features at the unpleasant taste of the alcohol. How the fuck do people drink this shit in great quantities? “None of your fucking business, shitface. A guy has to have some mysteries.” He said enigmatically, even though it was pretty obvious that he was a minor.
If felt good to get out of the party. There were far too many fucking people, and once he was out in the open air, he could relax. Even if he was here with some strange guy who wanted to take him home, and fuck, why was he even agreeing to this? He wasn’t gay…at least the guy was pretty cool. And pretty hot. That made it better. “Lead the way then, fucker.” Kai drained the rest of the bottle, dumping it in the trash on their way to the apartment. The last thing he needed was to go to jail for carrying an open bottle of liquor.
He’d totally make Caroline bail him out.
He got quiet when they got closer to the apartment, nerves making him a little sick to his stomach. Sure, he knew what was coming, but that didn’t mean he wasn’t nervous about it…because all this time he thought he was straight…but here he was, following some gorgeous gay guy back to his apartment. His mother had warned him about college. He was pretty sure this was the kind of situations she was talking about.
The tall boy snorted and rolled his eyes, giving a snort to hide how fucking nervous he was. Jokes came easily…probably too easily. “Brains before beauty, I guess.” The kid muttered at Zander, walking into the apartment. Fuck. It was better than his dorm…but like a hundred times. No shared bathrooms, no fucking annoying roommates or loud, obnoxious parties. Fuck. “How do you afford this shit.” He blurted out without really meaning to.
Zander certainly broke the stereotype of ‘poor college student’.
“Um…” He had a nice selection of alcohol, and Kai felt the burn of the whiskey in his gut. “I’ll stick with the beer, if that’s alright with you.” Beer tasted a hundred times worse, but he didn’t want to be shitfaced if this was going to lead to sex. It was like Zander was reading his mind though, and the lanky teen relaxed a little more, tossing him a glare. “No, I’m fine.”
He snatches the beer out of Zander’s hand and walks off to explore the apartment, taking a long swig as he does. “So how does this work, exactly?” He tried to sound nonchalant and not as nervous as he felt. “You wine me with cheap beer and offer me food and then you take me to bed? Because I gotta say, man, that’s pretty unoriginal.” He paused when he spied the guitar inside the open door of the guy’s bedroom, and a wicked grin spread over his face. “You’ll have to at least serenade me at first, fucker. I don’t put out that easily.

Zander laughed, "I've been working since I was old enough to get a job. So all that saved up, i'm able to at least afford to keep living here," he replied shrugging, "that and what student loans I could manage." Which wasn't much.
With the beer snatched out of his hands, he grabbed one himself slipping the still full bottle of bourbon back into the fridge. He followed the curious human into the living room, slightly amused as he watched Kaius look around. His apartment wasn't much, but it was definitely a better choice than whatever the University could have offered. Actually it wasn't even a choice. With his 'condition' he couldn't afford to be bunking up with random strangers in case something happened. That 'something' could end up being a big fucking deal too.
He leaned against the door frame separating the kitchen and the living room. He didn't want to get too comfortable in case Kaius wanted to up and leave... which was fine. He wasn't sure what Caroline would think Zander would do if she forced this guy to hang out with him. But when Kaius started to speak Caroline's or his intentions soon became crystal clear.
His eyebrows raised suddenly and he pushed himself off of the door frame striding into the living room. Was he fucking serious? Did this guy honestly think he brought him over here for a fuck? He didn't know Kaius well enough to see if he was joking or not, so he tried not to get too angry... or dwell on it too much. "Sorry Kai," he began emphasizing the shortened name for whatever reason, "that guitar is only played for special occasions" aka when he's feeling especially anxious, or he does legitimately want to play for someone.
"Look," he began as he approached Kai, "I don't know what Caroline told you, or what 'college rituals' you're used to... but you're not here for the sole purpose of getting laid." he explained simply. "You're here because I trust whoever Care deems a friend, and i'm just being nice."
Zander leaned against the back of the couch, "I don't mean to sound like a dick, but i'm way to sober for that shit." he added trying to lighten the mood. Because he didn't know Caroline's intentions, or what this guy thought he was walking into. "This isn't you at all, because you are my type," he smirked, "but I don't fuck straight guys. They aren't exactly enthusiastic about my body type."

Kaius was about to spout off something sarcastic about not being able to get into his pants when Zander kept talking. And that made the kid’s eyes go wide. So…the guy didn’t actually bring him to his apartment for sex. All the movies and fucking college tales lied to him then. Well…this was awkward, and Kai sure made a fucking huge fool of himself. “Well then…” He started, trailing off when he had no idea what to say.
God, he was a fucking awful person.
The kid fumbled for words and almost fumbled for his beer when his nerves rose up again. “I didn’t…sorry. I mean, I just thought that was what happened when some stranger wanted to get away from a party. ” He licked his lips, taking a step away from Zander in case it was his presence that was repulsive to the guy. He said it wasn’t, but who knew.
He licked his lips again, something he did at times when he was nervous. “It’s not because you’re gay or anything…if you were wondering. I just…I just…I dunno.” And he fell silent, dropping his gaze and the hand holding his beer for a second. “It's not your body that's the problem here...trust me."
Or his smile, and his eyes. "I mean...i've never...with a girl or a guy, but you're hot, okay?" And if Zander could see the way Kai's own body betrayed him, he would know it was true. "And I'm supposed to be straight, but I just fucking met you, and I can't get you out of my head."
It was deeper than he'd gotten with anyone, but fuck. Why couldn’t he feel this way about a girl?
He had to hide his own hurt at the other guy's words. "But if you have to be wasted to sleep with me, it's probably better that you don't." He leveled a stare at Zander, the look less amused and more somber.

Oh... oh good, look what he did. He offended the poor... kid? Fuck, he looked eighteen -- this whole thing was probably wrong on so many levels. He was probably going to get arrested or some stupid shit. If Zander had a brain he wouldn't have been at that stupid party to begin with. He knew it was probably swimming with minors looking for free drinks. Though he wasn't old, he felt like he couldn't stomach those parties anyway. The perks of a werewolf, were sometimes very crippling... or maybe he was getting too "old" for that shit. Christ, he'd rather drink in a bar over that shit any day.
He watched as.. Kaius fumbled for words, and Zander felt like an ass. Well what was he supposed to do? Take advantage of some kid he just met? This is why you don't take home strangers, children -- but Caroline seemed like she was close to the guy, so he assumed he wouldn't be walking into somethi-- oh. Did she think... did she set this up just so-- he will need to talk to her about this... blind date. If her intentions were what he thought they were, this was only a small step above buying him a fucking hooker.
But then...
"Whoa, whoa, whoa." a virgin... fan-fucking-tastic "why are you even telling me any of this?" Apart from the small ego boosts (which he did need), this... he didn't need to know any of this.
"Jesus, Look, Kaius -- I don't spend friday, saturday nights looking for people to fucking sleep with. Let alone with anyone I just met," he looked at the time, gauging when he even got there, "like an hour ago."
Zander did notice that the tough guy shit he saw at the party... was just an act. He didn't know why he was trying so damned hard. "You know how this sounds, right? I don't really fall for this 'love at first sight' shit. But sober or not, what ever you're thinking isn't going to happen. Jesus, did Caroline tell you I was just some fucking... I don't even know." he studied the expression on the guy's face before sighing.
"I didn't mean to say that there was anything wrong with you. I'm sure you're a great guy... but call me old fashioned, I like to get to know people before I decide anything,"
He drained the rest of his beer and wandered towards the kitchen, "did you want another beer?" he asked turning to face Kaius again, "and...you're free to crash here tonight too, I know what the dorms are like... and well.. they fucking suck," he shrugged smiling, "to put it lightly." Whether or not Kaius answered him, he'd grab two beers out of the fridge handing one to Kai as he passed, taking a seat on the couch. "Sit... and grab a controller." he ordered, pointing to the 'bookcase' full of various x-box games, the spare controller sat on the bottom shelf.
He hoped this will get Kai's mind off of... whatever he thought this night was going to be like. And who didn't like video games?

Kaius shut his mouth with an audible snap, closing his teeth down on his lip, but not reacting to the pain or the blood in his mouth. He’d said too fucking much, and now the guy was going to kick him out. He wondered why he cared so much. He’d just spent the last hour and a half dreading the party and dreading getting to know this guy, but now that he was here, and Zander seemed semi-awesome, he found that it caused him distress thinking about the guy kicking him out.
Ah well, it’s better that they get the air cleared now.
He was fumbling in his head for more to say when Zander spoke up and Kai looked at him with eyes wide, an almost ‘deer in the headlights’ look on his face. He half wondered why the guy invited him over if it wasn’t for sex. Did he normally just bring strangers home to ‘hang out’? It was a little odd, but Kaius shut his mouth and let Zander talk, all but strangling the neck of the beer bottle in his hands. He was relieved that Zander hadn’t wanted sex. The kid was fairly certain that he wasn’t ready for sex period at the moment, let alone sex with a guy.
There was still this irrational stab of disappointment that the guy hadn’t thought him worthy of sex. It was stupid, he knew. Zander hadn’t actually told him that he hadn’t wanted to have sex with him, but that’s kinda how it felt once he got his head wrapped around the fact. “She didn’t tell me anything.” He said in a very low, very even voice. It was a bit of a lie, because she had told him some about Alexander…but not anything about his sex life. “It’s a college thing, okay. You invite someone to your place when you’re sick of everyone else and want to be alone for sex.” He then wondered how old the guy was if this wasn’t something he knew. He didn’t look much older than himself, and Kai was older than most of the other freshmen.
Then he froze, and blinked a couple times at Zander. “But you do…want to get to know me?” He shakes off the awkwardness he was feeling and nudges the other guy with a teasing smirk. “So, is this a date then? Can I call you sweetheart, baby?” His grin was disproportionately goofy to the situation, but Zander was walking away. “Hey! Where’re you goin…” The smile sinks into a frown that melts away into a smile once more. “After the way I put my foot into my mouth so much earlier? A beer would be fantastic.”
He puts the empty bottle down and snatches the second bottle out of Zander’s hand. “You have no fuckin’ idea. But I’m sure you don’t want to hear about it.” He smirked, learning his lesson from before. Zander didn’t want to hear about his personal life, Kai wouldn’t tell him about his roommate. Taking a swig of beer, he feel back on the couch obediently, and grabbed the controller, blinking over at Zander. “So. What are we playing?” He hadn’t played video games in years. He was probably awful.

"Bullshit," he snorted, half muttering to himself. Caroline wasn't... someone who does well at keeping her mouth shut -- especially when its in "Zander's" best interest. If she felt Kaius needed to know about something in his past she wouldn't hesitate to explain. Though he didn't know she paid attention to his half-assed answers to any of her questions. Now that he really thought about it, after they... broke off and when things weren't weird, she'd ask him all sorts of questions about his 'type', what kind of guys did he normally 'go' for. He should have kept his mouth shut, but then again.... she probably would have asked again, and he probably wouldn't be talking to Kaius.
With Kaius' joke about a date, Zander shoved back playfully, handing over the beer "we could call this a blind date? All set up by a devious lil brunette, who cares way too much about my personal love life," he popped open his beer and took a small swig. "Though, we'll save the 'baby's and sweethearts' for at least the second date, deal?" he asked smirking behind the rim of the bottle before taking another drink. "Whoa wait, please tell me you're at least over twenty?" he laughed.
He didn't reply to the 'you probably don't want to hear about that' statement right away -- he just didn't need to hear about the kid's virginity. "Uhh... whatever is in the system," he replied pressing the button in the center of the controller. He hasn't touched this in weeks, well, since starting school. Within the first week his professors just... dumped everything on him. Since he's been out of school for so damned long (even longer since he hasn't done any sciences since high school) he had to actually give up spare time (guitar and gaming). Though he was sure his wolf wouldn't allow him the luxury of a month or two off.
The system started up, "oohh well looks like we're playing Left for Dead." he grinned over at Kai, "ever play?" he asked. "Uhh skill doesn't really matter... all the much. All you need to do is don't be a fucking tool and go off on your own." he explained simply.
As the game was starting up he looked over at his "blind date" "So. Gotta dick room mate? Oh or even better, a dick roommate who has an irritating girlfriend?" There he probed into Kai's semi personal life... he was being honest about wanting to get to know the guy. Start with simple things, while drinking and blowing off Zombie heads.

“I’m going to kill Caroline next time I see her.” Kaius grumped, taking a swig of the beer, only smirking at the other guy’s concern about his age. Had Kai known that the reason Caroline wanted him to attend the party with her was to hook him up with some guy, he probably would have been a little more adamant about not going. Now that he is here though, he found he was having a good time…once they got past the whole awkward foot-in-mouth parts of the day. It was too much for Kai to tell her thank you though…especially when he’d been so insistent on not going.
He licked some beer off his lips when Zander started the console up, and he had to hide a flicker of his eyes. He’d heard of this game, but he’d never played it…and he was probably going to be fucking awful…especially compared to someone who plays regularly. “No.” He answered, trying to hide the unease in his voice. Skill doesn’t really matter? Yeah right. “Says someone who’s probably fucking amazing.” He snorted, draining the beer a little too quickly. Maybe if he was buzzed, he’d be better at it than sober.
Because he was fairly certain Zander was going to show him the hell up.
He fell silent as the older guy set up the game, more than a little nervous that he was going to fail epically at this game. Then the game started up, and Kaius just stared at the screen for a second before he realized that he should probably follow Zander’s guy. He wasn’t so sheltered that he didn’t know the controls for the game, he was just really bad at it.
“Fuck.” He griped as the zombies started to come. Kai was a little occupied, so he didn’t answer Zander’s question right away, but he snorted when he did. “No girlfriend. He’s just a fucking judgmental dick. Likes to call me a loser a lot because I don’t usually go to parties.” Plus the fact that he’s older than anyone else in the dorm, but that wasn’t something Zander needed to know. Kai wasn’t about to alienate the only cool person he’s met yet. “Wait…” He started, full attention on the screen for a moment. “What should I do…wait…what’s that sound? I shot the car? Fuck, what’d I do? Why are all those fucking zombies coming after me!”
After he’d gotten over the horror of alerting the entire fucking horde, Kaius would look at Zander. “So, why does Caroline seem to think you need a guy in your life? Just get out of a bad relationship?” He realized that whatever it was was probably none of his business and it might be painful to talk about. “We’re going to need a hell of a lot more beer.” He said solemnly.

A cocky sort of smirk crawled to his features, "I'm not 'probably' amazing. I'm better than fucking amazing." the grin was tossed Kaius' way before he snorted. "Though i'm not sure what that says about what I do with my fucking time though." He had two things growing up to help him with his... temper issues. Well three, but he didn't really consider his management courses a real help. Zander had his guitar and his video games... and then Damon's video games when he moved out. The games helped keep his mind occupied, where the guitar playing calmed him down.
"In my defense, I haven't touched this since school started." he added, setting his beer on the coffee table.
He listened to Kaius speak, as they moved through the game. "Hm. I think... i'd prefer the name calling fuck-face. Just wait until you have to deal with being woken up by shit you didn't even need to know about your room mate, out of the girlfriend's mouth." he paused, "but yeah, he'll get what's coming. Just watch he'll flunk before next semester, if he thinks partying is a better life skill."
He sort of trailed off as he watched what happened on screen. At first they were doing just fine, and then all of a sudden a car alarm went off. Any other time, working with random dumbasses online he'd be pissed. But this... watching Kai's reaction, made this golden. He couldn't help himself, he practically burst out laughing. "Way to go," he managed to say between breaths, "I forgot to warn you about the cars..." he'd add snickering.
Somehow... they managed to get out of that alive, even with the fucking hoard of zombies on them. He almost missed Kaius' next words, but in his strain to actually y'know... pay attention to his guest a magical charger appeared and owned his sorry ass. He would have cared, but Kai's words gave him pause, "she told you didn't she?" he asked sighing, "nah... not just. Its been a quite awhile now..." he chuckled, "she likes to push things, in really irritating ways. I'm sorry you got caught in her fucking matchmaking plan." Well he didn't completely avoid the question, small deflection but it was still on topic -- plus answered his question (bonus points).
He'd then glance to Kaius with an amused smirk, "sure you can handle anymore alcohol, tough guy? You did drain that rye pretty fucking fast." His eyes flickered back to the screen, "how am I not dead? Can you fucking heal me or some shit?"
