(Ugh I hate starters erghhh!)
It was dusk and the Nekomata was up and active again, as usual she was taking a stroll for no reason. She didn't have a particular place to go to or anything in general.
Letting out a sigh the demon reached into one of the pockets in her trench coat and pulled out a stalk of catnip. It was one of the few things in this world tat could keep her in a calm mood, the other being lamp oil.
This town didn't belong to felines and she knew it, but instead of running to somewhere else she stayed. Maybe it was because she was pure on out tired of running around and never having time for anything else.
Now she had a reasonable place to live in,a job and a few other things. It was perfect she had everything she ever wanted...at least most of it. The thing that she wanted the most was to see another of her kin (That wasn't crazy like the last one she had met some decades ago) But she was pretty sure she was the only Nekomata in all of Boston so that was off the list.
----
After a few minutes of walking she had found herself near the bay area, the sea mist was a bit salty to her likes but she learned to live with it.
Today would be like every other day, walk around...go back to her place...
That is unless something else happened and her usual schedule became disrupted.

Aaron sat end the end of the dock, his feet bare and in the icy water. Today was particularly a bad one. He woke up to find police screaming, and cussing, at him with their coffee-breath and annoyingly loud voices. Apparently civilians can't sleep in park trees, what a stupid law. Aside from the rude wake-up call, he had also had a brief meeting with an unknown werewolf near the center of downtown. The drunken thing was threatening to put a stake through his heart and light him on fire, for no apparent reason. Eventually Aaron got fed up with it and "stumbled" into the fellow, forcing him to "accidentally" fall into a nearby trashcan.
Now, despite all of the things that had gone wrong during the day, he was rather relaxed as the cool breeze ruffled his jacket and hair. The docks were pretty empty, and for a moment the vampire believed that he'd be the only one out here tonight. Until his eyes caught a glimpse of movement. He studied her for a moment, his eyes bright with curiosity. She was new, or new to him at least, and he could tell that she was anything but a regular human. There was a supernatural feel to her and he wondered what exactly she could be.
Now, Aaron was not considered a very social person at all. In fact, he did his best to avoid situations that had to do with meeting mysterious people. But sometimes his curiousness got the best of him, this was one of those times. The man found himself crouched atop one of the rails that lined the docks very Assassin's Creed style in attempt to get a closer look at the girl without giving away his presence, luckily he had great balance, or this would end with him flailing helplessly in the ruthless ocean water. He inhaled the air around him, using his keen sense of smell to gather some sort of information. She didn't have the familiar wolf scent, so she wasn't a werewolf, but there was something feral.. Something animal-like..
A cat, maybe?

Like most people she expected that no one else would be here, the chilling sea breeze was enough to keep most people (even supernaturals) at bay.
To the Nekomata the sea breeze was not even cold, naturally if you had a strong affiliation with fire the cold did little to you. However she would soon find out that she wasn't the only thing here today...
Se noticed something near the corner of her eye as she continued on her walk, she stopped for a moment not really sure if it was her own imagination. So without much hesitation she looked to her side and spotted a man who was crouched atop one of the rails.
Bi colored eyes widened as she jumped back a bit her orange hair spiking up a bit, seeing someone here was a bit unexpected and the feline made it obvious that she had been caught well of guard.
For a few awkward seconds she remained silent, staring down the stranger as if expecting some sort of attack. However after a few more seconds she decided to speak up and say something.
"Umm...hey, didn't expect to see someone else here"
By the way he smelled she could also imply that he wasn't human, however the scent was unfamiliar and unknown to her. He could be a foe or a non-human that meant no harm but at the moment she would remain with her guard up...
Last thing she needed was to be jumped at, or attacked, or shot at...yeah those kind of things.

A small laugh slipped out of Aaron as he slid off the railing. The girl had discovered him, much to his surprise, and practically flew backwards at the sight of the half vampire. His green/blue eyes glowed in the dim light as he watched her closely, making sure she didn't do anything that seemed like a threat. "Sorry I startled you, I didn't mean to be all creepy like that." He said in the most friendly voice possible "I didn't really expect anyone to be here, either. That's why I was.. curious." He blew a few strands of hair out of his eyes and shoved his hands into his pockets, feeling a bit awkward now.
What does one say to a stranger after such a greeting? Aaron would never know. He lacked the required skill when it came to talking to other people, so many seconds went by before he actually said anything else. "Uhm.. So, what are you doing out here, aren't you cold?" Stupid question, but hell, it was talking, which is a lot better than the awkward silence that so commonly passed between him and other people.
He swayed a bit in the powerful wind. Was there going to be a storm tonight? Or was the wind just being a bitch? Probably both. The weather and Aaron typically didn't get along. Sometimes he feels that everything is out to get him. Even nature.

The Demon remained awkwardly silent until the man started to laugh at his discovery and slid off the railing. As expected he observed her as well, no doubt he was also expecting her to jump at his face or bite his hand like she had done once to a drunken werewolf.
"Sorry I startled you, I didn't mean to be all creepy like that."
Okay she was a bit surprised at how he used a nice tone in his voice, but the demon knew better than to trust a seemingly friendly stranger. At least her shoulders slowly started to lower and her hair unspiked. Jade green and yellow eyes remained observant as she let out a sigh.
“It's okay...It’s not your fault.”
She said truthfully and humbly with a hint of shyness, the last thing she needed was to make more...more enemies.
"I didn't really expect anyone to be here, either. That's why I was.. curious."
She had never seen him here before so she guessed he was new here, it was almost awkward as she remembered herself in such a position. When she was new in Boston she felt so awkward and...well not very wanted in such a strange place with strange people...and lots of wolves.
More seconds passed on by as they both remained silent...if anything she probably felt as awkward as he was, she was here in the open and with a complete stranger...why was this place so horrible.
"Uhm.. So, what are you doing out here, aren't you cold?”
“Uh...no not really I'm kind of used to it, besides I always take a small walk around here at dusk”
She always liked walking at dusk, she had done so since as long as she remembered and now that she was here she had found a new route.
She took note of the wind gusts that blew her hair into her face, she was a bit annoyed by this but took note of the possibility of a storm coming in at night.
“Hmm...Maybe a storm could be coming in, I'm not really sure but it sure feels like it.”
She then looked into the distant ocean for signs of a storm before looking back at the stranger.
"Not from around here are you?"

The man nervously licked his lips before answering the question he so dearly dreaded. No one in Boston knew of his past, and he liked to keep it that way. Mostly because his life before moving to Boston had been strictly nothing but hell for him. Mostly because of his incident with.. Well. He tried not to think about him.
"I-I.. I'm from." Oh god, where was he from? He had to tell her something that sounded at least half believable. He then realized that she probably noticed his slight Australian accent, which he had picked up from his caretaker at the orphanage, and it was probably best that he just said he was from there. Even though he's never even set foot in Australia. "Australia. I'm from Australia. But, I've been in Boston for a little while.. So I'm not really new or anything." He subconsciously tugs on his jacket, trying his best to not look too suspicious.
