When the lights fade out {Camille}

It was Sundown but it was already dark...if you where in an alley that is.

Shas had found herself extremely confused and trying to find a way to get out of the Downtown area of Boston, it was too big and crowded for her likes. Not to mention there was a wolf pack there and she really didn't want to deal with any of that. For the most part she was yet to encounter a wolf who didn't mind the company of a demon like herself...particularly one that was quite similar to that of a cat.

Not to mention she had probably pissed off a wolf back there to the point of being threatened to be shot at. Shas continued with the constant fear that she could very well end up being hunted down as well. No way was she going back to the Downtown area unless she really needed to do something there.

Eventually after hours spent trying to find her way through the labyrinth of alleys and streets, who knew Boston was large enough to prove complications when trying to get around. Shas finally came to what appeared to be a small park, it had a handful of trees and a few benches lying around. Scorn formed upon her features as she walked in. She was exhausted and felt as if she was about to collapse at any given moment. Eventually after after fighting to keep up in her current state Shas sat on the nearest bench and sprawled out. It would sure look like something weird to just see a person knocked out on a bench.

Still the faint taste of blood lingered in her mouth and it just made her almost gag in disgust...Why did she always end up having trouble in her face whenever she 'examined' something.

Letting out a deep sigh she relaxed and at the moment falling asleep didn't seem like a bad idea neither, she didn't need an Inn to be comfortable (But it was rather nice to be in one)

So without further complications Shas began to slowly drift to sleep, despite being in a public park she just couldn't take it anymore.

Well if everything went according to her plan she'd be completely rested by next morning. But then again some people where rude enough to sneak behind you and scare the living shit out of you.

He is guilty of forced depression, burying himself beneath the weight the world freely offered. He destroyed himself, carelessly, silently. This was a cruel world which deserved no hope and he is tired of it. He is tired of bread and whatever he could get cheap for a meal. He is tired of skipping eating for a day to pay the bills. There is a point when he wants to give up, or tell off someone, something, yet that isn’t an option. Or, it is he guesses.

A pale lip trembles in the stinging cold along with the cigarette it holds and the fingers touching the stick of nicotine.

Tonight there was a sense of hope bubbling in his chest as he steadfastly continued to carry his feet faster. There was actually, for once, money in his pockets. The day had been fresh, new, and for once he had actually seen more than two customers. He could eat for the week, pay the rent. Whatever the hell he needed to pay he could slightly muster. He could eat crackers for a week and with the money he earned that day pay the bills.

Hope, hope is well hidden.

The green eyes with their all-knowing cataracts aren’t as judging as they usually are. They aren’t as cautious either, flittering around instead to make sure he knew every step he was taking. The blurred colors moved past him, and he missed poles and other obstacles quite easily. His head was a little higher, his feet a little faster. For once, he does not reek like a reaper combing through medieval streets. He carries himself with a warming energy instead, odd for his cold exterior.

Day slips away, the pastel colors of twilight dripped through the sky until the sun laid down to rest beyond the horizon. It was the slight minutes between the sun’s departure and the rise of the night. Slowly, almost unnoticeably, the visibility begins to drop and that happiness, or slight cheer Camille had been feeling, drains away just as gradual as the night’s takeover. There was a slight fear building in his chest as his heart began to pick up the beat.

The sadness of the men on the street, the death and crying widows and family had not bothered him today. Today he had kept his head up, past the misery, past the bastards that walked the streets like they owed it; yet, he had fallen instead to fear. He was a blind man in an all seeing world.

There were streetlights of course, which made it at least possible, but not comfortable.

It was a silly thing to bring back a frown but thieves, thugs, homicidal, suicidal men thrived at night and his apartment, not too far, was far enough.

There was a shortcut of course, or he thought it was a shortcut; a measly park he doubted anyone would be at, much less care about.

Going through the park was something Camille would regret.

It wasn’t at all well illuminated and much more troubling than the city. He could, barely, make out the path and a few times he found himself bumping into the benches or his feet crunching through the snow beside the sidewalk.

Camille kept his head up until he something hit him and he stopped like a deer smelling a wolf in the forest.

It was supernatural, the throbbing headache and the sick feeling told him. Everything began to spiral out of control as he realized he couldn’t turn back, he had to keep going past the bloody devil- thing and then what? And then hope whatever the hell it was it left him alone or…

Everything was starting to fail as his vision slowly disintegrated, along with fear and the need for home taking over.

He prays, to his gods anyway as he trudges along, drifting to the right of path and he feels it. He canfeel it is right next to him and he takes a step away. He is lost for a moment in the darkness as the streetlight is too far ahead; so he bumps into it.

It startles him so bad that like that deer in the forest-

He takes off, blindly running towards the light, on the path, straight towards home.

The demon quickly drifted to sleep as her senses dimmed and her mind started to buzz up with memories and current thoughts. Shas could never really sleep like most people, usually she stayed awake and turned around a lot until she became so mentally tired that she couldn’t even remember how she fell asleep.

Her current sleeping schedule was going to go as planned...that is until she was bumped on the side by something or someone. Automatically her eyes jutted open and her pupils shifted into stilts, bi colored eyes scanned the area as her vision slowly came back to her sleepy mind. Instead all that Shasta could hear was the sound of someone running like a bat out of hell.

The demon side of her could feel the fear in the air as the bakeneko jumped onto her feet and sprinted forwards towards the subject. Her features distorting into an irritated expression, a snarl had formed perfectly on her lips as she closed in. Most likely this was some kid who had found it funny to wake up a sleeping demon...Well he would soon find out that Shas wasn't the best person to play tricks on (Or so she believed he did that on purpose)

“EY Get back here!”

Her voice sounded deep and almost as if two different voices where speaking at the same time. After a few seconds the demon decided to pick up her pace and get in front of the offender. If she was successful in intercepting him she would speak.

“Hey haven't you been told to not bump into sleeping people, that's rather rude you know.“
